I will & I'm going to

Mas qual a diferença entre I will e I am going to? Veja o exemplo abaixo:

Jim: Let's go for a holiday.
Mary: Good idea! We'll go to Mexico.
Algumas horas depois...
Mary tells Paul: Jim and I decided to have a holiday. We're going to spend some time in Mexico.

Às vezes não há muita diferença entre will e going to:

I think the weather will be nice tomorrow. ou,
I think the weather is going to be nice tomorrow.

Look those black clouds in the sky. It's going to rain. (e não It will rain)
Jane is feeling terrible. I think she's going to be sick. (e não I think she will be sick)

Não utilize will para os casos acima. Em outras situações utilize o will:

John will problably get here by lunch time. (não tem certeza disto)
I think Laura will like the present we bought to her. (não tem certeza disto)
